TOURISM IN ECUADOR

Ecuador is a country located on the equator in the northwestern part of South America, Ecuador borders Colombia to the north, south and east with Peru and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. It has an area of ​​256 370 km ² and its capital is Quito.

AMAZON REGIONIt extends over an area of ​​120,000 km2, with lush vegetation, typical of humid-tropical forests. 
The Ecuadorian Amazon offers a wide range of activities including swimming, canoe journeys, rain forest walks, bird watching, animal spotting and visits to local communities in the forest. The Amazon accounts for little more than 5% of the total population but here are small communities of Indians such as Huaorani, Cofan, Shuar, and Siona-Secoya who live in jungle villages and continues with many of its ancient traditions. Amazon also has some of the finest white water carrying raft routes in the country.

The forest covers most of the region, the largest and least populated country.
